National (Northern) Services of Vigil & Investiture, Nottingham

The Grand Priory of England and Wales invites Postulants, Members of the Order and their guests to this event, the programme for which appears below.

The Vigil Service will be held in St Andrew’s with Castle Gate United Reformed Church, Goldsmith Street, NG1 5JT followed by dinner in the Ionic Suite at The Belgrave Rooms, 25, Goldsmith Street, NG1 5LB.

The Investiture Service will take place in The Cathedral Church of St Barnabas, North Circus Street, NG1 5AE, followed by Lunch at The Belgrave Rooms (see above).

Friday 25th October

6.30pm                       Vigil Service at St Andrew’s with Castle Gate United Reformed Church.

Attendance at the Vigil service is mandatory for those being admitted to the Order or being promoted to equestrian rank (Knight or Dame).

7.30 for 8.00pm      Dinner at The Belgrave Rooms.

Saturday 26th October

10.00am                     Chapter-General of the Grand Priory – Belgrave Rooms (free parking of up to 25 places available).

10.30am                     Presentation by The St Lazarus Charitable Trust.

11.30am                     Refreshments.

12.00pm                               Marshals, clergy, postulants and promotees leave for the Cathedral.

1.15pm                       Service of Investiture.

Investing Officer:   The Grand Prior, The Most Honourable the Marquis of Lothian.

Preacher:                  The Revd Alan Gyle SChLJ, Vicar of St Paul’s Church, Knightsbridge, and Grand Priory Almoner.

2.45pm                       Drinks at The Belgrave Rooms.

3.15pm                       Lunch at The Belgrave Rooms.
