Commandery of Wales AGM and reception

The Commandery of Wales of the Military and Hospitaller Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem gathered for Anglican BCP Evensong at the 6th century church of St Denys, Lisvane, on the outskirts of Cardiff.  The Joint Commandery Chaplain (Anglican), the Revd Canon Brendan Clover SChLJ, officiated.  The Very Revd Dr Sebastian Jones Cong Orat SChLJ, Joint Commandery Chaplain (Catholic), preached a most amusing homily.

The Assistant Commandery Chaplain, the Very Revd David Canon Hathaway SChLJ, offered the Commandery intercessions.   The Office was beautifully sung by the parish choir.

Evensong was followed by the Commandery AGM and Reception at the nearby Tyn y Berllan Farm, the home of Confrère Jeffrey Morgan CLJ.  All present wish to extend their thanks to Jeffrey Morgan for his munificent and sumptuous hospitality.  The glorious summer weather enabled Jeffrey to host the reception and AGM in his beautiful country garden.  The charitable collection for the evening raised £1300 for the Commandery’s ring fenced account at the St Lazarus Charitable Trust.
