To raise public awareness of the Order of St Lazarus, the Commandery of King Offa had a display which formed part of an open day at St Wilfrid’s Church in Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire by kind invitation of the Revd Kevin Charles, ChLJ who is Commandery Chaplain. This explained the Order of St Lazarus, its history and work around the world today. The many visitors enjoyed learning about the Order and members were present to chat and answer questions
This event was part of the oneLIFE mission which aims to reach out into all areas of the community to engage with people who do not normally go to Church. The new campaign launched by the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham aimed to spread the Christian word. The oneLIFe Mission was led by the Northern Bishops with the Archbishop of York Dr John Sentamu.
