On Sunday 12 May 2019, the members of the Commandery of Avalon will be attending Choral Evensong at Truro cathedral.  Although the Commandery of Avalon has included Cornwall since its foundation, this is the first time that a formal Commandery event has taken place in the county, and we hope to raise the profile of the order within Cornwall.

The service will start at 4pm. Members will process in their mantles, and the Revd. Louis Baycock, Chaplain of the Commandery, will preach.  Light refreshments will be served in the cathedral afterwards, and it is hoped to arrange a dinner in...

The Vigil Service will be held in the Anglican Church of Roath St Margaret, Waterloo Road, Cardiff, followed by dinner at The Cardiff & County Club, Westgate Street, Cardiff CF10 1DA.

The Investiture Service will take place in St David’s Metropolitan (RC) Cathedral, Charles Street CF10 2SF, followed by Lunch at The Cornerstone, Charles Street (directly opposite the Cathedral).

The event will beginat 17.30 hrs with a Celebratory Evensong at St Mary’s Church, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, followed by a concert with Ilkeston Brass and a finger buffet afterwards at the United Reformed Church, Wharnecliffe Road, Ilkeston, in the company of Mrs Maggie Throup, MP for Erewash and the Mayor, Councillor Chris Corbett and Mrs Linda Corbett.  £13 per person – please contact: secretary.kingoffa [at] for further details

The Commandery of Cumbria Annual Convocation will be held on Tuesday 2nd April 2019 at 7.00pm in the Longlands Hotel, Tewitfield Marina, Carnforth. LA6 1JH.

Following the Convocation there will be a presentation by Confrere Prof Robert Ashford CLJ, on the work of the St Lazarus Charitable Trust. Prof Ashford is the Hospitaller of the Grand Priory of England & Wales, and also Dean of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine in Glasgow and a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

The annual church service and service of re-dedication for the Commandery of London & Westminster will take place on Saturday 2 March 2019 at 11 a.m.


The venue for the service is St Pancras Old Church, just behind Kings Cross station; and lunch will take place at La Regina restaurant, opposite the station.

The Commander of London & Westminster is pleased to invite members and friends to the Commandery Carol Service, which will take place on Thursday 13 December at 7 p.m. With thanks to our Senior Chaplain, Fr Paul Bagott SChLJ, this year’s service will take place at St Cuthbert’s Church, Philbeach Gardens, Kensington, London SW5 9EB.  St Cuthbert’s is conveniently located about a 5 minute walk from Earl’s Court Underground Station.

The Advent Carol Service of the Commandery of Aragon will take place on Sunday 2nd December 2018 at St Mary’s Church Hertingfordbury, St Mary’s Lane, Hertford, SG14 2LD commencing at 1600 hrs conducted by The Revd Rosemary Caruana, SChLJ, OMLJ.
