The Commander of King Offa, Chevalier Mario Rizzardi KLJ MMLJ, invites you to attend a Service of Investiture with Annual Celebration & Renewal of Knightly Vows, being held at the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene, Newark-on-Trent on Saturday, 31st July 2021, and followed by a celebratory banquet at The Best Western Deincourt Hotel.

Revised details and a new booking form may be downloaded here and should be returned to the Commandery Secretary by Friday 23 July at the latest.

 

Confrères Timothy Cutts and Haydn Rees are arranging a Commandery weekend excursion on Friday 29th - Sunday 31st May 2020 to Aberystwyth and Llanegryn.  Timothy, who works in the National Library of Wales, will organise a tour of the library for the Commandery.  Haydn has arranged a tour of the ancient church of Llanegryn.  We will hold our Commandery AGM on Saturday 30th May in Llanegryn.

We will use/arrange our own transport for the weekend.  Haydn has sourced some accommodation in Llanegryn - click here for details.

The Commandery of King Offa First World War Musical Evening will be held in The Welbeck Banqueting Hall, Welbeck Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 7QW, on Saturday 28th March 2020, commencing at 7.00pm.

This splendid evening of songs from the Great War includes Community Singing lead by Major The Hon Clifford Bull with Chevalier Mario Rizzardi officiating at the Trench Piano, and a 3 Course Dinner.

The Cumbria Commandery Annual Church Service with rededication of vows will be held in St Michael and All Angels Church, Beetham. LA7 7AL on Saturday 7th March 2020.

The Service will be led by our Commandery Chaplain, The Reverend Canon Andrew Horsfall ChLJ. The preacher will be The Reverend Robin Nash SChLJ, Chaplain of Rose d’Or Commandery.

Following the service a Commandery Lunch will be held in The Wheatsheaf, directly opposite the church.

The Commandery of London & Westminster is pleased to invite members and friends for a private tour of the Old Bailey, followed by dinner, on Thursday 6 February 2020

 

With thanks to our Senior Chaplain, Fr Paul Bagott SChLJ, this year’s London & Westminster Carol Service will take place at St Cuthbert’s Church, Philbeach Gardens on Wednesday 18th December at 7pm. We will be joining members of the St Cuthbert’s parish for this event – and will be led by their choir; as well as having a number of opportunities to join in with congregational carols.

The service itself is free to attend, but there will be a collection during the service to support the parish and the work of the Order. After Carols, a light supper will be served, along with drinks...

The Advent Carol Service will take place on Sunday, 1st December 2019 at St Mary’s Church Hertingfordbury, St Mary’s Lane, Hertford, SG14 2LD commencing at 1600 hrs.  It will be conducted by The Revd Rosemary Caruana, SChLJ, OMLJ.

After the service we will dine at Mayflower Place, Hertingfordbury Road, Hertingfordbury, Hertford, SG14 2LG.

The Commandery of King Offa’s Annual Advent Carol Service will take place on Sunday 1st December 2019 at 12.15pm. The service, conducted by our Senior Chaplain, the Reverend John Burgess and our Chaplain, the Reverend Kevin Charles, will be held at St Wilfrid’s Church, Church Street, Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire NG17 8LA.

The service will focus on the Nativity story through the reading of the traditional lessons and the singing of well-known carols, and will be followed at 2.00pm by a 3-course luncheon, with a vegetarian option, at £17.00 per person, in The Abraham Lincoln...

A Concert in aid of the St Lazarus Charitable Trust to raise money for the relief of Leprosy Sufferers throughout the world

at St Paul's Church Knightsbridge

Includes a rare performance of the Piano Trio in D minor by the English-born composer, Henry Charles Litolff, who is mainly remembered today for the sparkling and light-hearted ‘Scherzo’ from his Concerto Symphonique No. 4, op. 102 for piano & orchestra (1852).
