ST LAZARUS FOUNDATION

The St Lazarus Foundation was created as a Registered Company at Companies House to handle all charitable contributions received by the Grand Bailiwick of England and Wales, its Commanderies, Delegations and Individuals. It was incorporated on 7th January 1992. (Company No. 2675606). The company has charitable objects and has been registered with the Charities Commission (Charity No. 1014863). The Directors of the Foundation are each members of the Grand Bailiwick Executive and subject to annual review.

Annual Accounts of The St Lazarus Foundation are prepared in accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association and are available to members upon request. The Accounts are subject to independent audit prior to submission to Companies House.

Personal charitable donations to the St Lazarus Foundation may be supported by a GIFT AID declaration. Forms are available from the Receiver-General. Gift Aided donations must be sent direct - with Personal Cheque, payable to ‘St Lazarus Foundation’ - to the Receiver-General (England and Wales) and not to a Commandery. Addressing such donations to a Commandery will render the donation ineligible for tax relief under Gift Aid.

Joint Bank Account holders must send their own individual Gift Aid declaration supported by a cheque drawn by the person named on the Gift Aid declaration. A signatory to a joint account cannot make a Gift Aided donation supported by a cheque drawn by the other signatory to the account, as this will invalidate the declaration of the person named on the form.

All monies received on behalf of Commanderies, or individual members of Commanderies, will be recorded and accounted for ‘under the banner of the Commandery’, which has the sole authority as to its disposal for Charitable purposes, unless specifically designated otherwise by the donor.

Members wishing to view the accounts of the Foundation may do so in the Members' Area.
