The Commandery of Londinium is one of the oldest Commanderies of the Grand Bailiwick being re-formed in the 1970’s. For some time it was domiciled in the Islington part of London, utilising the Polish Catholic Church of Our Lady of Czestochowa & St. Casimir, however maintaining an Ecumenical Service at all times. History was made in March 2002 when Dame Mervyn Redding had the distinction of being the first Lady Commander within the Grand Bailiwick of England & Wales. Dame Mervyn who joined the Order at Lochore, transferring to the Grand bailiwick of England and Wales in which she became Secretary General until 1996. and has continued to hold prominent positions within the Grand Bailiwick of Almoner, also taking over the role of Receiver-General upon the sudden death of the incumbent Chevalier Michael Challis, and for a short term as Deputy Bailiff.



The increase in the Membership of the Commandery has been significant latterly which beholds well for the future.
