As a result of the growing interest in the Order shown by people living in Wales, the first Commandery of Wales was formed in South Glamorgan in April 1995. Membership of the Commandery has since continued to grow steadily, and we now have well over 30 full, and 14 honorary members.
While supporting all the Grand Priory's established charities - as well as the grassroots organisation CORSOHANSEN based in the ex-leprosy colony Agua de Dios, Colombia - the Welsh Commandery has a history of raising funds for hospitaller charities specific to the Principality of Wales. During the course of the last year the Commandery has supported the Leonard Cheshire Home, Danybryn, in Cardiff, and St Anne’s Hospice in Newport.
The Commandery was pleased and honoured to host the Grand Priory Spring Investiture in May 2009.
