COVID-19 - Grand Priory response

Dear Friends,

You will all be aware of the serious effects of the spread of the coronavirus throughout the world, and the efforts the UK Government is taking to contain this disease.  In these circumstances it would be highly irresponsible for the Grand Priory to adopt a “business as usual” approach. Accordingly, and with regret, the Executive Committee has decided it has no option but to postpone indefinitely the Spring National Investiture and suspend all other national events planned for this year until the Government advises otherwise. Commanderies are urged to follow suit and suspend all religious and social gatherings of their members for the time being.

If you have paid for your attendance at the Spring National Investiture your payment will be returned to you by cheque as soon as possible, but please bear with us as it may take a little time to complete all the refunds.

Please take care of yourselves and avoid unnecessary risks but do, where possible, offer assistance to members of your community (the elderly, infirm and those living alone) who may need help to get through the difficult times ahead.

May God keep you safe in the hollow of his hand and protect you from all adversity. And may the prayers of Our Lady and Saint Lazarus encourage and inspire us in all that we do.

Yours sincerely,

H.E. the Chevalier Gareth Vaughan GCLJ Secretary-General Grand Priory of England & Wales
