Chaplain General brief biography
THE REVD. CANON BRENDAN CLOVER is parish priest of St John the Evangelist, Clevedon, a parish in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England. Fr Brendan has been a member of the Order since his time as Residentiary Canon and Precentor of Bristol Cathedral in the early 2000s. From 2006 until recently Brendan was Senior Provost of Woodard Schools, one of the largest Church of England educational providers in the country, and one of an executive body of three directing this national charity.
Fr Brendan celebrates 40 years as an ordained deacon and priest in 2023. He served two curacies in the Diocese of London before returning to London after a stint as Chaplain and then Dean of Emmanuel College, Cambridge. His interests include entertaining, wine and good food, and music. His passion is for social justice and the marginalized. Brendan is one of forty-two Anglicans across the Anglican Communion holding the Ecclesiastical Award MMCM, Memorial of Merit of Charles the Martyr.
