With thanks to our Senior Chaplain, Fr Paul Bagott SChLJ, this year’s Commandery Carol Service will take place at St Cuthbert’s Church, Philbeach Gardens, London, SW5 9EB on Wednesday 15th December at 7pm. We will be joining members of St Cuthbert’s parish for this event – and will be led by their choir; as well as having a number of opportunities to join in with congregational carols.
The service itself is free to attend, but there will be a collection during the service to support the parish and the work of the Order. After the service, a light warm supper will be served, along with drinks, at the back of the church. All are warmly invited to take part – there is a suggested donation of £20 a head to cover catering costs, which may be paid in advance by bank transfer (details below) or in cash on the day. Any surplus raised will be donated to the St Lazarus Charitable Trust.
In order to make sure that there are enough seats and refreshments for all members, please can you reply to the Secretary to: secretary.london.lazarus [at] gmail.com. Guests are also very welcome – indeed, this is a perfect opportunity to bring guests (especially those who may be considering membership) to an Order event. Please note that we will need confirmed numbers for catering purposes.
If you are unable to attend please consider a donation to the St. Lazarus Charitable Trust, either by cheque, payable to: Commandery of London and Westminster, or by bank transfer to the “Commandery of London and Westminster” account (HSBC: Account number – 22133717; Sort code – 40-06-29).
Dress code: Members of the Order are encouraged to wear mantles, but no insignia. Gentlemen are also encouraged to wear the tie of the Order
